M I N D F U L C R E A T I O N

In this series of workshops we'll be using mindfulness to inspire creation, as well as use the process of creation to bring about mindfulness.

We are all born as Divine creators in one way or another. Within each one of us is the ability to create, because we are connected to ourselves, to each other, to our surroundings- to the Divine within and all around us. In order to use our creativity to its fullest potential, it's necessary to mindfully draw on that connection and access it within our hearts, more commonly referred to as using our imagination.

Meditation is a great way to fully activate our imagination for mindful creation AND guidance. Meditation is simply any mental exercise to focus one's thoughts to heighten one's awareness and can be done in so many ways.

In this collaborative workshop we'll be exploring meditation in two ways:

Kay’s Creative Therapy through Calligraphy

Kay’s Creative Therapy through Calligraphy

First, we'll be learning and practicing the art of lettering as taught by Kay of Triligraphy. Not only can the focus and practice of repeating strokes in calligraphy calm the mind, the message that you choose to write in your art piece also imprints another layer of meaning and connection. Over the years Kay has learned to channel her creative passion for calligraphy as a tool to help address mental health and spreads awareness in the meaningful messages she chooses to share.

To inspire the message in the art piece you'll be creating, Charmaine of Holding Space will be leading the group through a Feel Trip- a guided visualization that activates your senses. In this particular meditation you'll have the opportunity to experience and receive a message directly from your connection with the Divine and translate it into your final art piece.
